You can probably delete the file while using safe mode - command prompt.
However, I believe deleting the file will do you no good. That file is
there for a reason and when you search for a driver again it will re-appear.
Is this file in any place besides the INF folder in your SystemRoot? If so
then check this regkey and remove everything but "%SystemRoot%\inf":
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DevicePath
Then you can delete the file and it should not come back. If it does then
check the regkey again. If the regkey updates again then you have an
offending app/process that is causing this issue. |
