You don't have to actually "send" them. Once you get to that point, you can
simply "Save Attachments".

As a work-around :-

In Windows Mail, there is a Resizer, so, if you send an image to yourself,
you can choose your size - to the parameters available in XP.

Why you can have a Resizer in Windows Mail & not in Vista, don't ask me.
