There *are* ways to get the tablet to talk to your computer on the
network just about regardless of how locked down the network is, but
in many cases where I've seen people do that, they've been fired for
contravening company IT policy. I'd check as Chris recommended with
the network admin.

The syncpst file that Al mentions is the one I couldn't recall - but
I've heard of many people who use it, and have never heard any
complaints about it. With that and a USB drive, I think you'd have
what you need without having to deal with the IT side of things or
working through the rest of the connectivity issues.
