Re: RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL relocation.

A lot of people are getting this message after an automatic Microsoft update messed with their system:
"The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in
memory. The application will not run
properly. The relocation occured because the
DLL C:\WINDOWS\syste32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an
address range reserved for Windows system
DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL contacted
for a new DLL."

The microsoft link formerly provided by this forum to download a solution no longer works. Furthermore, I wonder whether these incidences are scams by Microsoft to force consumers to buy more of their software? The microsoft download solution to this problem may appear to be free, but in the small print you discover that you have to have other microsoft accessory software to make the fix take effect. Further, if you download the fix software and then discover you don't have the accompanying microsoft software that you need to make it take effect, your system could run even worse than before you downloaded the fix. This is what forces people into purchases. That's what I wory about - when in fact the fault lies with microsoft and it is they who should be making reparation.
So if anyone finds a solidn way to fix this problem without being dependent on further software and exploitation from microsoft, it would be wonderful to post that here.
