Hi,
Well you can start by looking in the Start - Programs - Startup and deciding
whether or not to remove items from there. Also, all the items in the task
bar by the date have processes that are running. So close as many of these
as you can if you do not need them.

When doing all of this keep in mind that you will want to revert back if you
need a specific program so I suggest making a backup of the Startup folder.
