could you kindly tell me whether you have solved your video problem as i had purchased a vgn-fs series laptop and after a year, the video display started having the exact same problems as you're facing, Sony claims that the motherboard needs replacement which would cost around 1k "complete nonsense", i am currently pointing out to them that there are other machines around the world (i bought mine in Kuala lumpur) with this same flaw which renders our machines useless within a year "ridiculous", either we've both bought a red herring or there are others out there scratching their head, note: these VAIO'S are designed by people who build boxes that dont move & i foolishly disregarded the obvious and went for the bling bling factor
