Re: Urgent Disk Partition Problem - Need to remove a partition.

:I have an Acer laptop which is partitioned; I'm not sure if this is something

: working fine and all sweet.
:
: Ideally I need to delete the other partition all together without any effect
: on the C: I do not want to do a factory install as this may get rid of the C:
: again as it gave me no option.
:
: If I cannot do that, need to safely delete all the files on this other drive
: and then reduce the size of this and move the storage over to the C: drive.
:
: What is the best way to do this? Get rid of the drive or reduce the size of
: this. Please provide as detailed instructions as possible.

Does the additional(soon to be deleted)partition contain the Acer factory restore image. If so, then a later factory restore with the OEM installed drivers would not be possible. I.e. Delete after further investigation and with caution.

If Windows is already installed you can not modify the C: drive size without 3rd party software.

If you successfully delete the unwanted partition and wish to increase the C: drive size without third party software, you must start from scratch by deleting both partitions, recreating a new partition then install Windows.
- this can be done by booting with a retail XP cd and some OEM cd's. Again, investigate before proceeding.
