Re: TR3000 help is here!!

Damon,

Yes..I e-mailed you about the power flap.

Do you have an external second battery?

Yes, they do make a device called a stand holder that will charge the tablet and a second battery at the same time. The stand holder also has a VGA out and 2 USB1.1 ports.

I can check on what the pricing would be from us...I'm pretty sure we have them in stock.

One word of caution on the external battery...we encountered alot of problems with them. I don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but if the external battery gets mismatched cells inside the pack, you will encounter a situation where when the second battery gets drained, it will switch over to the promary (internal) battery. When this happens, the load is removed from the second battery. The mismatched cells will show the voltage of the highest voltage cell, which will trick the tablet into thinking the external battery has available charge. The tablet will try to switch back to the external battery.

This will go on, we call it oscillating, back and forth. Eventually, the backlight inverter will blow a fuse (I can't recall what the relation is) and your screen will go dark. The tablet will still seem to act normally (you can hear windows load, ect), but the display will be dark.

The remedy to this is to replace the inverter board, which is unfortunately buried under the motherboard. Let me know if you ever encounter this and I can help you out. We have tons of inverter boards, but since we warned our customers, they no longer use them and thus I never have to replace them anymore.

If you're interested, we did develop a high capacity internal battery, 7000mAh. (compared to the 7200mAh of the standard internal plus external packs) It's a little larger than a normal internal battery, and it comes with a replacement battery door. It is much smaller and a bit lighter than the internal + external battery combo.
