I did an upgrade, I was happy that if it went wrong I could reinstall
but wanted to do an upgrade to start with to avoid any hassle.

The Q menu comes up but when the brightness option is selected nothing
happens, no message box appears saying to use the jog dial. At that
point other parts of the OS starts to play up which I think is related.

Yeah, I liked the 2003 versio so am now getting used to the new one.
The only issue I had with the 2007 install (upgrade) was that it will
not upgrade Outlook 2003. Looks like an uninstall and install for
that.
