Sounds like an explorer plugin that isn't compatible.
Did you install any 'old' software that adds new items to the explorer
context menus? That's probably the culprit.
Try uninstalling it, but that pops up the question: how do you launch
the 'programs and features' control panel in Vista without using the
control panel - wich is just another view of explorer? I really
wouldn't know.
Can you get into the start menu to open a cmd prompt at all, or is it
the shell instance of explorer.exe that keeps crashing? |
