Re: Windows Search Fails

if i recall, there is a registry key
that gets corrupted for whatever
reason.

You might want to open
the registry and drill down to the
following.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{e17d4fc0-5564-11d1-83f2-00a0c90dc849}

If you don't have this
exact key then you should create it.

fyi - Hitting the send key to send a problem
to microsoft does not good for anybody.

However, you can go to microsoft.com and
search thier knowledgebase for issues they
are aware of and may have already addressed.

A reasonable criterian for your issue would be
something like "troubleshooting search companion"

However, you can also use google in
addition to microsoft.com

I have a user that every time she tries to search a network folder for a
keyword, Search shuts down and asks to Send or Don't Send. It works fine on
other computers. When we select "Send" no solutions come back.
