| Is there a way to remove a HD from my Toshiba laptop and connect it to another one? My Toshiba M35 is giving me the BSOD when I
boot ..UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME ... I can't boot from an XP CD I
guess because Toshiba only supplies a 'Recovery CD' which will
reformat my HD ..... is there a way that I can take the HD out of my
laptop and get an external HD enclosure that will let me plug it into
another laptop as a secondary drive, perhaps as a USB drive, so that I
could run chkdsk/f against it to try to repair any file system damage
that might be there and maybe recover some files before I am forced to
reformat it.
I really appreciate any feedback anyone can give. I can't believe that
my only option is to reformat and lose all my files ( I know, I know,
do backups, but its a tad late for that!) |
