Re: Windows Easy Transfer

I used WET to transfer all my settings and program files, along with other
directories on my hard drive before trying a 64bit clean install. That
didn't go well for me, the drivers/software just aren't mature enough yet to
go to 64bit unless you have all new hardware, etc. Maybe I'll try it again
on down the road. Anyway, I used my computer mfgs recovery disks and started
back at Windows XP Media Edition and did an upgrade to the 32bit version of
Ultimate. I then went to the image file I had created in the first
installation of Vista and did a restore. 6 hours later, it had NOT restored
my software, (C:\Program Files, C:\ProgData, etc.) or all of my settings
(Desktop, etc.) but it did do some things like some desktop items, etc.

Does it sound like I set something up wrong in first backup?? There aren't
many things you can tell WET.
