Yesterday I ran windows update because it was on the taskbar saying updates
ready. It reset and came back to system disk error and has been dead ever
since. It won't let me run the system recovery or it won't boot to my
recovery cd's I made when I first bought the computer either. What the heck
happened? I tried following the online help from Compaq but got nowhere. I
reset the bios defaults made sure the HDD was showing now the online help
says to replace the hard drive. It was good yesterday AM until I updated
Windows, does this make sense? I don't have another full copy of XP to try
and boot to but mine worked about 6 months ago when I restored the system.
Any direction here would be great, I'm lost and about ready to throw it in
the pile of junk.
