seriously though, it's bad to continue the use of ambiguous
terminology. A boot cd is a boot cd and should not be called a boot
disc, and definitely not a boot disk. A boot disk is a boot floppy.
Boot disc would be 'better', but nobody says boot disc because disc
tends to be optical media, and if one means Boot CD they say Boot CD,
which also has the advantage that it can be interpreted both correctly
and clearly both in written or vocal form - unlike the words
disk/disc which fail on both counts - twice on each. |
