Re: xp cannot read hard-drive (blue screen of death)

Sounds like a bad hard drive, Kelli. I would first look in Control
Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer where you can see (in the left pane)
listings for Application and System. If you'll tap Application first, it
will reveal yellow exclamation points and possibly red circles with white
X's in them. Those are error messages which may point out the problem. Do
the same on System, and write down the results.

Then, I would immediately contact Toshiba and see what their techs say
regarding those error messages. They may want you to run some other
diagnostics on the machine to further pinpoint the issue, too.
