On windows 2000, if you go to the Accessories -> Entertainment menu,
you'll still have the old CD Player application installed.
If you start that, can it play any CDs from that drive ? Obviously
this is a simple test to ensure the CD drive is correctly installed in
windows.
Regarding the Treo, it should be showing up as a removable device in
control panel Hardware, when connected - if not, possibly you've
missed out the drivers for windows (or it only came with XP drivers)
