First Post ;-)

I'll start the ball rolling by nominating the Acer TravelMate C300.

This Tablet PC is a convertible which just started to ship. It is "like a notebook" but with the advantages of the tablet pc. The 512 MB of memory is a perfect starting point. The processor is a 1.5 GHz and the unit includes a modular CD-RW/DVD. It is perfect for a teacher who roams from classroom to classroom and wants to keep all of their records together. It is powerful enough for a full desktop replacement AND it has the ability to accept digital ink.

Happy Holidays !

:-)

My first Tablet PC was the FIC SlateVision. I also owned the docking station. It took me some time to get used to opening and closing applications with the emr pen but I found it to be more efficient when I wanted to jot something down while waiting in a line. The slate form factor and light weight place this unit ahead of the convertibles for tablet PC purists.

In my book, the Toshiba M200 is the winner. See PDF specifications.

(1) It is lighter than the Acer TravelMate C300
(2) Screen resolution is higher than other models.

Gateway M 275 XL

I have to give a nomination to the Gateway tablet. The 1.6 Ghz Intel Mobile Centrino Processor w/512mb of RAM, DVD/CD-RW combo is perfect for me. The Gateway is a convertible Tablet that started to ship fairly recently I believe. I believe the greatest selling point for the Gateway is the ability to put a 14 in screen in the tablet and still keep it light enough and thin enough for me to take it w/me to 8 different offices day after day.

Thats my vote.... is is a ruggedized Tablet PC.... fast, quite, and lightweight.... and a VERY bright screen that you can see in daylight.

My Vote

My vote is for the Electrovaya Scribbler. By far the best tablet out there mainly for the long battery life. Tablets are supposed to be mobile. What good is a tablet if the battery keeps dying on you. Once you go Scribbler you will never go back!!!!
