| Feedback and a question I have to say that I have been using WMP11 for some time now and I hate it.
It is one of the worst bits of Microsoft programming that I have ever
encountered. WMP is, basically, total crap and I am sorry that I ever
installed it.
Now don't get me wrong on this .... I am generally a fan of Microsoft but
WMP11 isn't something they should be proud of - it runs like a dog, is so
quirky and fully of strange bugs that it is impossible to like it. WMP 10, by
comparison, it a much better bit of software but unfortunately it doesn't
have all the features of 11.
I had hoped that some of the bugs I encountered in the beta versions would
be ironed out by the time the product got released. It doesn't seem so.
I will concentrate here on something I regard as the "worst" bug of all.
Here's a typical scenario. I get a media file - typically an mp3 file - I
double click on it to launch the mediaplayer automatically - which happens as
planned - the music starts playing but like 10 times louder than I expected.
My ears are ringing and I switch to WMP11 to slide the volume control down
some .... but I can't. For the next few minutes or more WMP is totally locked
up doing whatever it is that it is doing and I have no control over it
whatsoever. After this hiatus I eventually get back in control of the
software but by this time it is too late. My ears are shot and my amplifier
has cooked the bejesus out of my loudspeakers. WMP10 never did that to me.
Why is it happening with WMP11? Any suggestions on how to cure this problem?
.... or should I just go back to WMP 10? |
