PCE is on a distinguished road
Hello, glad to have found this forum!

I'm so new to tablet pc's I don't even have mine yet! I will be taking delivery on 5/27 though. I've purchased a Gateway DS M275XL CTO. I'll be using this for business for the most part. This is my second laptop. First was a Dell Latitude D800. Once I had bought it I wondered why it took me so long to buy one. Go figure! I've been using pc's since 1988 but never really saw the need for a laptop. I for the most part use them for business only, though some personal research and purchasing as well. My tablet config is as follows:

Intel Pentium M 745 (1.8GHz, 400MHz, 2MB L2) & MBD
1024MB 333MHz DDR SDRAM (2x512)
14.1" XGA TFT w/ Digitizer Pen for M275
80GB 5400rpm Ultra ATA Hard Drive
24x/10x/24x CDRW / 8x DVD Combo for M275 (DAZ)
Integrated 802.11b/g Wireless Networking
High Capacity (8-cell) Li-Ion Battery for M275
Additional 8-Cell Li-Ion Battery M275 (DAZ)
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition (SP2)
Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003 (DWL) (Have Pro on other Computers)

I purchased my tablet thru Gateways 800 number. This is my first Gateway, Dell just really did not have anything that I needed. I've purchased over 10 pc's in the last 12 years or so for my business. Which BTW, is wholesale/retail of telecom products. Prepaid and postpaid.

The reason that I decided to go for a tablet this time around is that I wholesale to 250 or so retailers and I needed a solution to handle the sales process. I spend about 4 to 6 hours a week doing record keeping instead of getting new customers. I found some software that was designed for my industry and it was designed for a tablet pc. (Good excuse Huh?) The one problem that I'm running into is that the company that developed the software happens to be a little, how do I put this, shady. Well, at least one of the principles had some “issues” which is why he had the capital to invest in this software company to begin with. Telecom can be pretty cut throat and I have a bit of a problem doing business with this company since I will have to be very careful as they can have access to my customer base, and yes all of their info as well. Not that they would do anything, but....it is the Telecom business. I’ll post my question for software in a separate post.
