I used a word I shouldn't have, since you seem to be so prone to
knit-picking, James. Instead of "measures" I should have said "corrects."
Did you happen to read the chat information I posted, James?
Here you go, quoting Robert Williams of Microsoft's Tablet PC Team:
=====
Q: The calibration tool says it's important to calibrate your screen for
portrait and landscape. How come?
A: Good question. There is a lot of misunderstanding about the calibration
tool. I will try to address some of it here. The calibration tool is not a
linearity calibration. That work is done by the manufacturer in cooperation
with the digitizer supplier. It's fixed in the design. The calibration tool
on the tablet is a pen tilt calibration. It corrects for pen angle because
the tip of the pen and the end of the sensor in the pen barrel are about 1mm
apart. As the angle at which one is holding the pen varies by location on
the screen and orientation we suggest calibration in both orientations.
=====
Again, the best calibration is made when the user holds the pen naturally.
We do not hold a pencil at a 90-degree angle on a piece of paper, and I
suggest using the same method when writing on a Tablet PC - the natural
position of the hand and tip of the pen.
As for my other suggestions, please. I'm trying to work with fellow users
to figure out what is wrong. You criticize what I post if I say something
and don't ask questions. You criticize what I post if I do ask questions.
Either way, I am trying to work out things to a solution, James. I'm sorry
if that provokes you, but I sure wish you would stop.
