| PROBLEM: pen cursor shows up on docking station monitor I have a Compaq tc4400 tablet PC running XP and a docking station
with
a flat panel monitor. I want the docking station monitor to be my
desktop and the tablet just for taking pen notes, but the pen cursor
ends up on the docking station monitor. Here are the details:
(A) Since I am right handed I want my tablet on the right and the
docking station monitor on the left (both physically and vitually).
(B) I want my desktop to be on the docking station monitor and the
docked tablet to be the secondary monitor since I only need it for
documents that I want to use my pen on.
(C) I don't want to have to adjust a dozen settings to get this
everytime I dock.
I have encountered two problems trying to do this:
(1) Using the display options/settings I can get the monitors to be
in
the correct virtual orientation (i.e. tablet on the right and docking
station monitor on the left), but even if I save this as a graphics
scheme, the virtual positions always return to the wrong orientation
(monitor 1, the tablet, on the left and monitor 2, the docking
station
monitor, on the right) next time I dock, even if I pick that save
scheme. It's like it saves everything but the virtual positions.
(2) So I finally figured out how to make the docking station monitor,
monitor 1, and it automatically becomes my desktop, AND it on the
correct side (i.e. left) AND I was able to save it as a graphics
scheme that actually retains all these features. I thought I was in
heaven, but then I tried my pen on the tablet and cursor showed up on
the docking station monitor?!?!? (and, by the way moving, in the
opposite direction of my motions, but I don't care about that since I
need the cursor on the tablet to make it useful anyway).
I've looked for a function in XP and the pen utilities to switch the
cursor to the other monitor, but have found nothing.
Can someone help me with these two problems (the second one is more
critical, since it is closer to what I really want, but I would like
to know the answer to the first issue, too)?
Thanks. |
