You're going to have to figure out what he did to disable it. I
understand that you're not even seeing the stuff that would normally
appear on the screen during the bootup process? Is the monitor's data
plug still connected to the computer? Is it plugged into the power
source (wall outlet or power strip or whatever)? Is it turned on?

You're right, those are very general questions, but you haven't given
us a lot to go on.
