Sounds like you recently installed a scanner or other imaging device, and
you are having problems with Windows Image Acquisition. Might try
uninstalling the drivers for your scanner, then reboot, disable any
antivirus program and reinstall them. Sounds like they may be corrupt.
Also check with the manufacturer of the scanner to see if they offer updated
drivers. You will most likely get better advice in a Windows XP hardware
newsgroup.
