Re: Desktop turned orange after Ink Desktop

Safe Mode is what it implies - safety. What it does is remove unnecessary
items from possibly interfering with the clean installation of the driver.
It gives us the best possible method of installing a new driver. You don't
need to worry about the network being on at all, because you don't need it.
Safe Mode offers whether you want networking or not. Since you don't need
to do anything on the LAN so unless you're getting your file from a
different machine, select Without Networking.

Remember, Windows XP is much different from perhaps one of the Windows 9x
operating systems. In Device Manager, there's Roll Back Driver, which is a
safety net (in addition to System Restore) for moving to a previously good
driver, in case a "beta version" one goes belly up.

Mickey, my thinking is if you haven't tried reinstalling the drivers, you
don't know if there's a bit of corruption in there which might be fixed. If
it doesn't fix the issue, then at least we'll know the drivers are very good
for your system, and there's something else amiss. Then you can go to the
"wait" mode. 8-)
