| Delay in loading the wireless stack at startup in SP2? Hello,
I'm a proud owner of a Acer C110TCi convertable tablet PC. It has served me
well for as long as I have owned it and the 900mhz processor is by no means
any limitation to what I do.
Anyways, I finally upgraded to SP2 (to get Windows Tablet PC Edition 2005) a
few weeks ago. Since then... or shortly after then... whenever I restart, it
takes about a minute before it'll load wireless networking. Normally you
should have that computer in the tray with the x on it (because I have
wireless off at startup) - it doesn't show up for about a minute. It is not
as if it is doing other things either, it loads everything, the computer is
usable, the HD is idle, but it takes a minute for wireless networking to
load.
If I go to control panel --> network connections during this '1 minute grace
period', it will just show a blank screen and wait until I get the wireless
networking icon in the tray, then it will load.
I tried using an ethernet cable, and I can confirm that as soon as I start
up, I can access the network from ethernet.
Any ideas?
I've already done spyware scans, I'm using Windows Zero Conf Wireless... not
quite sure whats the problem here. |
