Did a comp.exe on your softkeyboard.txt and my softkeyboard.ini.
Unfortunately, they match exactly. So, that rules out the culprit being the
obvious registry entry and the .ini file.
A) What is the process name, or service, that accepts the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTip\Lo ginKeyboard\... registry
config as input to invoke the kbdresource.dll? Perhaps, that is not started,
present, or is missing its own registry config to consult the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTip\Lo ginKeyboard for starting
up...
B) Is there a method to unistall only the TIP, and then reinstall it?
C) Could I modify the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTip\Lo ginKeyboard\... config to
point to XP's On Screen Keyboard (OSK.EXE)? If so, is only that one key
affected? Better than nothing...
D) Is there an authoritative source for Windows registry definitions?
E) Would uninstalling/reinstalling the pen driver be an option?
Don't you just love how intuitively maintainable the Windows O/S is? NOT...
Thanks for the file Chiris.
