M205-S810 in the mail.... Hi all,
Just joined up with the tablet pc community as I just ordered a refurbished Toshiba M205-S810 from *gasp* Ebay, for $1200 + $50 shipping. After a couple weeks worth of research and shopping around, I narrowed my choice down to the M200/205, what is the real difference between the two anyways, I guess the M205 only comes with the option of 1.5ghz and if bought new, comes with external DVD/CDRW? Purchasing from Ebay CAN be shifty business, but if you do your research about who you're buying from, asking them a lot of questions before purchase, and reading the item description with a fine comb eye; you can get your self a good deal in the end. The biggest thing for me was getting a good deal, under $1400, and one with a warranty. There are alot of sites out there, such as fotoconnection.com, inoax.com, niceelectronics.com, plasmakings.com, etc. I found that most of these site were more shady than Ebay was, offering either refurbished or even brand new m200's starting at $1,200. I called a few of these sites and actually found out, despite what the web site displayed, that they did not have any in stock. But anyways, I ended up buying a 1-year warranty for $110 from 'Now', who is affiliated with Ebay, and the item came with a 90-day warranty, so basically, the m205 is under warranty until June 2006. Does that seem long enough? I couldn't really find much information on the life expectancy of the m200 series laptops, all I know is that they come with a 3-year warranty if bought directly from Toshiba.....
So, just wanted to show my face to evryone, I might be on here asking some more questions when I get the M205. I do have one questio to leave you with though, and I have searched the forums but haven't found good answer. Can someone either give me detailed instructions or send me link to instructions on how to install programs onto the M205 through a network with another computer which has a CD drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
