| RE: Can I print on EVERY network printer visible in the Network neighb You should be able to print to it provided that it is functioning. There are
no "server" drivers - in a print server configuration, the print server just
serves up the drivers to the client when they connect.
As far as what drivers to use - most HPLJ printers are compatable. I'd
advise trying a direct IP configuration using the HP LaserJet 4000 driver.
Start > Printers and Faxes
Add a Printer
Select "Local Printer attached to this computer" and uncheck "Automatically
detect..."
Click Next
Select Create a new port
Select Standard TCP/IP Port
Click Next
Type in the Printer's IP when prompted, next, netx, finish
Select HP | HP LaserJet 4000 for the driver
Accept all the defaults and finish out the wizard.
see if anything prints to it. If you can't print Direct to the IP - It's
prolly busted.
(You can get the printer's IP by printing out a config page from the printer)
