Assume a remote (rather old) HP Laser printer is visible in the local Network neigborhood.

However for some unknown reasons I cannot print on this printer.

If the printer is visible in Network Neighborhood does this ALWAYS mean that I should be able to print on it?

Or is it sometimes required to install explicitely an additional driver on the local system?

Are there drivers for local use only resp. are there drivers for network delivery (="server edition") as well ?

Otherwise one and the same driver package should be usable as for local clients as well as for remote programs.
