It is not a "silly" question. The Tablet recognition system is "word or
segment" based. The more words available for recognition, the better the
result. Adding SPID words to the User Dictionary makes them available to the
Tablet Input Panel (TIP) and all other programs like Journal for
recognition. It is very transparent.
