One probably could just delete the Live Search shortcut in the
\Windows\Programs menu before (or after) installing Bing. The
preinstalled Live Search files are in ROM, so installing a newer Live
Search doesn't really delete them- it just redirects the shortcut the
newer version installed in Storage Memory. Presumably the installation
of Bing detects a user-installed version of Live Search and removes the
"newer" Live Search shortcut, but doesn't think to look for a ROM-based
version.
I did notice installing Bing doesn't remove the Live Search cached files,
which were taking up a few hundred MB on my Storage Card- I deleted the
"Live Search" folder on my Storage Card manually to reclaim the space. |
