| Advice on Pocket PC / Smartphone alternatives Hello -
I am writing from Toronto, Canada
My HP iPAQ Pocket PC no longer recognizes the stylus and it's an old
model anyway so I want to buy a new one.
My cell phone contract is also up pretty soon so I'd like something
newer and easier.
I understand the gap between the smartphones and PDA's is narrower than
ever.
I also know that Blackberry is pretty popular, and I'm open to that
too; the calendar looks harder to navigate
I've looked on the web, and for a start, these are the features I know
I want.
Combined phone and software.
GPS because this is fun and I don't have one in my car
GSM because I go to Europe and I'd like to use it there.
Wifi; Bluetooth; Phone with bluetooth earpiece
Camera and Camcorder
Video and Music player
QWERTY and soft keyboard
Room for thousands of contacts and voice dialing for all of them
A medium to large screen / colour /
That's all so far; but I definitely want to hear about any neat
features I don't know about.
I think the trick is going to be to find a Phone AND GSM AND GPS...
I also would like to know if the Canadian cell phone companies would
let me use any phone I want, or do I have to buy it from them?
I've heard of unlocked phones and do they cost more?
Thanks
