Re: chkdsk is veryfing files

It sounds like the "dirty bit" is stuck on, causing the hard drive to
go into chkdsk on every boot. This happened to me also. It was not my
primary partition so reformating the secondary drive "D" corrected the
problem.

In a "run" or command prompt window type "chkntfs C:" This will tell
you if the dirty bit is always on.

Do a search on "reset dirty bit" and you should find some ways to
correct the problem. Formatting the drive may be the sollution of last
resort as the dirty bit is often a result of a Master Boot Record
write error.
