In my newsreader only the last message appears, one level down from my
original message. I am wondering what else I've been missing...

Anyway, when I was using my Win 98 machine I was thinking of trying
Linux with my next computer when I would have more hard drive space.

When, however, got my XP machine, I found it much more satisfactory, and
have been hesitating ever since to get involved with something that
would require me to spend extra time learning a new system when doing so
does not seem imperative. There are always new things to learn
concerning computers, languages and staff (html, css, javascript, new
programs...). Now first I still have to transfer to Java several (for
personal use) programs I have written in Qbasic starting from the early
90s which I still occasionally use and which now I cannot run in
Vista... And it would be a good idea to go through a book about OOo, to
which I finally switched from WP a couple of years ago. So trying Linux
will have to wait for some time in the indefinite future, or until for
some reason it appears necessary.
