SP2 may well be the cause...
I only noticed it when I had WMDC and my HTC Touch Pro connected and working
fine on Windows Server 2008/SP1 (32 bit), but after installing Windows
Server 2008 SP2 it stopped being able to connect to the device. The device
shows it connects (ie, it prompts on the device for an ActiveSync vs Data
connection), but Windows, MyMobiler and WMDC do not see it as connected.
Uninstalling SP2 resolved the issue.
Given Windows Server 2008 and Vista are basically the same core OS, I'm not
surprised to see the same problem on Vista SP2.
If you uninstall SP2 does it resolve the connection problem for you as well?
I know it's a pain to uninstall but it'd help to verify the issue.
