No. The 8 gig limit is not due to the version of the OS - it's dictated
by the hardware in the Bondi Blue (as well as in beige PowerMac G3:s).
Besides, as "Mr. Strat" points out, it run Panther quite slow.
It will work, but you need RAM - preferably the maximum of 512 MB.

I'd say that about my SE/30, but not about an Bondi blue iMac.
I happily swapped that for a 400 MHz iMac DV - 7 years ago...
