| OWA and XDA Mini S I have a user who has a "problem" with his PDA. We have contacted the phone
provider who is basically saying its not their problem and user is at his
wits end.
I have also posted to MS Exchange Server Newsgroups and they suggested
posting here so hopefully someone can help.
The user has an XDA Mini S using Windows Mobile 5.
He also has an HP Ipaq using Windows 2003 Mobile and has no issues at all
with the HP Ipaq and connects to the same exchange server.
On the XDA Mini S Push mail works fine. OMA also works fine.
When the user uses a PC and connects to the exchange server, OWA also works
fine.
However he wants to use OWA access from his PDA and this is where he is
experiencing difficulties.
We have explained to him that OWA is not suited to the small screen of the
XDA mini but our client is querying why it sometimes works and when he tries
to use it (his choice) it starts to download and then prompts him for
password again, downloads a bit more and then prompts for password again
until eventually he can see email.
Can anyone help here.
Thanks
JK

"Thanks for posting here.
From your post, my understanding on this issue is: You have one PPC XDA
mini S using Windows Mobile 5, by which he cannot access Exchange mailbox
by OWA. If I'm off base, please feel free to let me know.
First of all, you are right that we don't recommend using PPC to access
Exchange mailbox by OWA; this is because OWA is not designed for mobile
device access and downloading OWA interface will take high bandwidth. It is
strongly suggested to use OMA and ActiveSync to access Exchange mailbox.
However, technically it should always be possible to OWA access mailbox by
Mobile Device. Considering there is only one mobile device encountering
this issue, I am 100 percent sure Exchange Server is configured very well
and this must happen due to configuration of this specific PPC. Since our
newsgroup is only focusing on Exchange Server Side configuration, you may
need to contact Mobile Provider or post your question in PPC specific
newsgroup as below. " |
