I have and use Acronis for partition backups but moving apps from a
backup to a new Win7 installation is not as simple as you make it
appear. An installed app has files in different directories, plus
registrry entries. Those things are not as easily transplantable as an
original app install with the usual installation wizard. Copying over
HP-provided special drivers that operate the webcam, touch pad and other
special laptop hardware is likely just as or more complex. At least
that's how I visualize it.
