| Re: HP 5510 Software error "A more recent version is installed....." the rest of the story! First, what started all my trouble was troubleshooting why my Office 2003
autoupdate would not work. Since it would not do security updates to my
legit copy of Office, Microsft helped me. I trying to following the list of
things to kill in the Registry I mistyped someothing and shot myself in the
foot. Yes MY BAD.
So then-the solution ended up being:
I gave up and restored a backup image I forgot I had made in mid March that
still allowed full use of my HP 5510 all in one device.
I then redid the manual removal of all copies of Office, reinstalled did all
the Office autoupdates and I'm a happy camper.
Thanks to all who offered their help.
NOTHING downloaded from HPs website helped-some of it actually Fed up my
system.
Buyer beware HP tech syupport claims simply updating the 5510 drivers etc.
can kill some of the functionality of your 5510!
Just like me you end up with an all in one printer and copier only!
If your 5500 series device works leave it alone.
I wasn't ready to buy another all in one of yet mores types HP of printer
cartridges anyway!
