true, but, after posting queries about this on another forum, the
responses seemed to indicate that my experiences are not that uncommon.
I _really_ need hibernation, but, having been bitten hard once and
validating that it was a system problem, not sure if I can ever trust it
again... at least not for an extended shutdown for a couple of days or more.
Ironically, just purchased a $200 refurbished Acer Aspire One netbook
which arrived last week and it does _not_ appear to have the same
failings, so your point is validated.
At the same time, think anyone who intends to use hibernation should run
tests disconnected, docked and connected only to an ac adapter before
they rely on using it as the time saved over shutting down and
restarting may not be worth the cost if there is no outlet nearby the
next time it's needed.
