Re: Vista Compatibility

I'm using the ATI Sapphire Radeon X1300 256 (said on the box to be
"Vista Ready") on a system I just built, and I also experienced BSODs
when first installing Vista (32) RTM. Although I got past the BSOD
problem and got Vista installed OK, the ATI Catalyst Control Center for
the video card will not open. When trying to open it, Windows gives the
following error message: "Windows Vista does not support ATI Catalyst
Control Center. This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between
Windows Vista and ATI Catalyst Control Center. Contact ATI about
upgrades or other possible solutions to help make this program
compatible with this version of Windows." I have just registered the
card online with ATI and have filed a complaint about the situation just
this morning. I can find no drivers on their site to upgrade to, and am
rather unhappy with ATI about this. Hopefully, I will hear from them
soon. On the plus side: after about three reboots the BSODs went away
and haven't returned, and the card itself seems to be functioning for me.
