| Re: Repost- please answer and not ask an obvious question. RFM mode should prompt on boot, so if you are getting no messages, it's
probably not it...
Another possible explanation is that your notes became read-only. Try
creating completely new notebook on your local drive: <File | New | Notebook>
- choose "Blank" for the template, give it any name, in the next screen of
the wizard leave default "I will use it on this computer" but in the next
screen provide some local path not under "OneNote Notebooks", e.g.
"c:\ON_test" would do.
Please post back to this forum on whether you could create the new notebook
and whether it's editable. If so, the next step is to try to figure out why
your existing notes are RO (please describe their location, no exact path
necessary but I'd need to know if they are local under "My Documents", in
customized folders or UNC shared).
If creation of new notebooks is also disabled then you are definitely in RFM
mode (not sure why you are not getting the prompt, though). Where did you
install your current build from? Was it a trial, MSDN subscription, something
else? How many times did you attempt to install-reinstall the RTM version of
OneNote? Where did you get the product key from (e.g. from the Trial site)?
Thanks,
Irina
