Intel's official line (as far as I know) with the Centrino set is that it
controls speed automatically. I have the Acer c111 and find it can get hot
too...but only when plugged in and running at full speed. If you need to
cool it down you can unplug it for a bit and it will step down accordingly.
(Your performance will drop too).
