Thank you so much, Patrick, fro your assistance.
The information given by this Outlook MVP is seriously wrong, however.
1.) There's nothing broken/disabled in OL 2003.
My OL 2003 is up-to-date with the latest updates and using Outlook
Contacts in OE works pretty fine.
2.) It never was dead and it is not.
I used it until the OL 2007 broke my basic instrument.
3.) It is a very great loss.
I can not use OE for my mail anymore as I cannot use my addresses.
There is no way to keep the Windows Addressbook (WAB) in sync with the
Contacts. And I have to use Outlook Contacts because otherwise I can
not keep the data in sync with my iPAQ.
And I think there is no need to explain what it means to keep address
data in more than one location.
Would it be possible to contact the said MVP directly?
And would there be any way to reach the developers?
I do not know how the communications between OL and OE did work
technically.
But without having been given a valid reason I would doubt that it was
technically impossible to re-create what works perfectly well in OL
2003.
And I doubt that disabling in OL 2007 what worked in OL 2003 would be
based on a rational decision. I'd rather assume that it was just
forgotten/overlooked/neglected.
Thanks again
