I have both the TC1000 and TC1100.

They do not come with a CD/DVD. I use a USB Sony CDROM/DVD/CDwriter.

The TC1100 is much faster in my opinion. Especially when switching between
programs etc.

On either machine more memory is a good idea.

I can't detect much difference in temperature bewteen the two or fan
operation. They are both quiet.
