| Further explanation Oh, I should provide a little more detail (just in case someone is reading too far into my original post).
A valid email address must be used to become a member of this site. A validation link is provided in an email to all new members. The requested member id is then placed in a group "waiting for activation." Someone who uses a fake email address will never get their activation link and is never able to become an active member.
An increase in the number of bounced emails started to occur over the weekend. This is why you'll see the membership go up over 600 and then drop back down. Maybe you even saw it when it said over 620 because that is how many fake membership ids are being created between my times checking it.
Anyway, I want to keep this board as real as possible. No fake email addresses and no trolls.
