Re: Office 2007 network install with service pack 1 sp1 included

Technically you don't use the administrative installation like you used
to in Office 2003. The "network" version is really just a copy of the
Corporate CD on the network. Inside the CD, or network directory, you
will see a folder called Updates. The installer will look to here for
any updates that you want to install at run time. The problem is the
sp1 comes as an exe, not as msi, so you will need to extract that first.

So:
1. Download the SP1 package to a location you can remember. For this
example, I will be using the root of c:
2. Copy your CD to a hard drive location too. In my example it will be
C:\office2007
3. Type in "C:\office2007sp1-kb936982-fullfile-en-us.exe
/extract:C:\office2007\Updates\" If you downloaded somewhere else, then
replace the "C:" for your file path name.
4. Then after you agree to the update EULA, it shoudl copy the needed
files to your update folder.

After that, anytime you install from this set of files, it will install
a clean already SP1 copy of Office 2007. Hope this helps. I know you
tried this, but it works for me just fine.
