| Help on Using Tablet in an Education System!! Hey all:
I am currently a medical student and I use my Tablet PC to take notes in all
my medical school classes. Currently, the administration at our medical
school is moving forward to require all of the incoming students for next
year to purchase a laptop for school. Since, I've had a positive experience
in using my tablet for school, I am meeting with one of the dean's of our
school, to try to convince her to towards requiring a tablet. I know for a
fact that they are wary in doing that due to the cost of tablets. But If I'm
not mistaken, most Tablets today do not cost as much as they did when they
were first introduced, right? I believe that I remember that some were as
much as $3500 - $4000. I know that I bought my Gateway M275XL which is
Gatway's top of the line for $2300 (2600 w/ full comprehensive warranty and
insurance.)
So anyway, my questions are this:
1.) Is it possible to get a nicely equipped Convertible and/or Slate for
under $2000? I really haven't kept up w/ prices since I bought mine.
2.) Can anyone point me to any case studies in which Tablets have been used
in higher education? (I would be especially interested in any studies done in
a med school setting or any science programs.)
3.) What in terms of education software is out there for specifically
designed for Tablets. (I currently use Go Binder, besides this is there
anything else out there?)
I figured that I'd ask here, since everyone has been really great in helping
out with answers I've had to problems w/ my tablet.
Thanks
