Exactly how I handle my Z710 images. I store everything to the SD card.
When I want to get them to the computer I put the SD card into a card
reader and let Linux mount it. Copy/move what I want and edit with GIMP
as I like. As for movies (MOV), I watch them with VLC and edit using
Kino.
